MIKE'S OILERS/CANUCKS G7 MONEYMAKER We have a Game 7 in the NHL playoffs when the Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers Monday night. The teams have traded wins and losses through the first six games of the series, but I think the Oilers will buck the trend and follow up on their Game 6 win with another win tonight. The Oilers have been favored in every single game of the series, and they dominated the Canucks in their 5-1 win on Saturday. MIKE'S EARLY 4* PADRES/BRAVES MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY I like the under in Game 1 of a doubleheader between the San Diego Padres and the Braves in Atlanta. Padres right-hander Dylan Cease (5-3, 2.45 ERA) gave up three runs in Colorado in his last start but has otherwise had a hot start and year. He's an experienced pitcher who can bounce back from subpar outings. The Braves counter with right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (2-1, 1.34 ERA), who, as his ERA suggests, has been outstanding. He's coming off five scoreless innings against the Cubs and has yet to allow more than three runs in an outing this year. 4* PLAY ON THE UNDER. |

MIKE'S MLB MONEYLINE MONEYMAKER The Cleveland Guardians are 6-1 in their last seven games, but I think they're in for a tough game in the opener of a three-game series against the New York Mets. The Mets are only 3-7 in their last 10 games, but they're coming off a 7-3 win in Miami and they've won nine of the last 10 meetings with Cleveland. The Guardians hand the ball to Ben Lively (2-2, 3.06 ERA) who has allowed three runs in each of his last two starts. Mets righty Tylor Megill is back on the mound after getting injured just four innings into his season debut March 31. I expect a strong outing from him. 3* PLAY ON THE METS. |
